Safeway mobility offer a range of solutions to getting around the home including creating Ramps and House extensions designed to help someone access their home or adapt it to their needs
House Extensions
In some situations a house cannot be adapted adequately to fulfil the needs of someone with a disability. In these cases a house extension may be a viable solution. Safeway mobility have the provision to take on these larger projects for both private individuals or as part of local authority grant schemes.
The 'Disabled Persons Grant' is a local authority grant by which house extensions may be available. This allows approval for extensions if all less costly, and “fit for purpose” alternatives have been considered and eliminated, e.g. re-assignment of existing rooms, use of technology, etc.

Ramps
We custom build permanent ramps to suit any home or gradient to help those in a wheelchair get in and out of their home safely. Ramps can be bought privately or applied for under a local authority grant. For a ramp alone under a grant scheme we recommend the 'Mobility Aids Grant'.
